The BPSC TRE 4 is an important recruitment drive for teaching posts in Bihar, but aspirants claim the number of announced vacancies falls short of expectations.
Thousands of students flooded the streets of Patna today, staging a protest near Gandhi Maidan to demand an increase in vacancies for the Bihar Public Service Commission’s Teacher Recruitment Exam (BPSC TRE 4).
The demonstrators, led by student leader Dilip Kumar, are pressing the Bihar government to release a notification for 1.2 lakh teaching posts by September 15 and ensure certificate verification before the exam.
The protesters also clashed with police near Gandhi Maidan, reflects growing frustration among aspirants who have spent years preparing for the exam and feel neglected by unfulfilled promises. “Wada kiya hai to nibhana prega warna satta se hath dhona parega bpsc tre4 me 1 20 000 vacancy nhi to vote nhi hum student Bihar ka bhawish hai koi khilona nahi jiske sath aap khel kr chale jaoge hum chup rahenge humne 3saal se sirf tre 4 ke liye preparation kiya hai bewkufnhih, writes Jitesh Yadav on X (formerly Twitter)
The BPSC TRE 4 is an important recruitment drive for teaching posts in Bihar, but aspirants claim the number of announced vacancies falls short of expectations. Students argue that 1.2 lakh posts are essential to accommodate the large pool of qualified candidates and address the state’s educational needs. The demand for pre-exam certificate verification stems from concerns over procedural delays and discrepancies in past recruitment cycles.
Today’s protest, which saw heavy police presence, underscores the mounting tension between the government and job seekers, with many threatening to withhold votes if their demands are unmet.
