BSEB Confirms STET 2025 Exam Date after Rumors of Postponement Spread Online

Clarification came amid confusion caused by BPSC TRE-4 delays, false alerts on some job portals, and speculation linked to Bihar Assembly elections, which is going to be held in November.
Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has issued a clarification that Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2025 will be conducted as per the schedule from October 14, 2025. This statement came in response to rumours caused by unverified reports of exam postponement circulating online.
The confusion has increased because of delay in Bihar Public Service Commissionβs (BPSC) Teacher Recruitment Exam (TRE-4) with some websites publishing information suggesting STET might be delayed.
The situation was further complicated by speculation about possible impact on the exam due to Bihar Assembly elections, scheduled for November 6 and 11.

BSEB has addressed this confusion among candidates and has issued clarification that STET exam will begin on Oct 14 as announced earlier. "The Bihar School Examination Board published Notification on October 1, 2025, in various newspapers, according to which the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET), 2025 is scheduled to be held from October 14, 2025. There is no change in the said date," BSEB tweet reads.
BSEB has also suggested aspirants to rely only on updates shared on its official website and verified social media accounts for authentic information.
Following clarification from BSEB, aspirants took to social media to share their feelings. One Ranjan Kumar wrote: "Thank you very much for the confirmation β confusion had been building since morning."
Prashant Kumar added: "Appreciate the clarification; it helps reduce stress before exams."
Some candidates raised concerns about misinformation being spread by some websites. Prem Prakash commented: "Action should be taken against such websites (β¦β¦..), they spread false news about STET." Another aspirant, Rolex Yadav writes, "The delay in TRE-4 and now rumours about STET seem linked to election-related tactics."
More than five lakh candidates are expected to appear in STET 2025, which will be held in multiple shifts covering subjects for secondary and higher secondary levels from October 14.
The Bihar government has announced the Bihar STET 2025 exam on the microblogging site, Twitter. The Bihar School Education Board released the Bihar STET 2025 applications on September 19. As per the official notice, the Bihar STET 2025 exam will be conducted from October 14 to 31 on multiple days in multiple shifts.
The BSEB will declare the Bihar STET result 2025 on November 16.
The Bihar STET result is prepared through the normalisation method as the exam is held in several shifts on multiple days. The STET normalised scores are the basis for the declaration of result.
