Clearing CBSE CTET Mandatory for Teachers to Remain in Service; 2025 Notification Soon
CTET qualification is now mandatory for teachers as per the latest Supreme Court verdict. Teachers who have not qualified the CTET yet need to clear the exam in two years. It is expected that the CBSE will soon conduct the CTET exam to align with this. The CBSE CTET 2025 notification is expected soon at ctet.nic.in
In a recent development, the Supreme Court has ruled that the TET qualification is mandatory for teachers. To align with this, it is expected that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will soon release the notification for the CTET 2025 exam. The CBSE CTET notification 2025 is expected to be out in September. Once released, eligible candidates will have to fill out the CTET application form 2025. The CTET information bulletin and the apply online link will be published on the official website- ctet.nic.in. Lakhs of candidates are waiting to appear for the CTET exam in 2025. The CBSE will soon make an official announcement regarding the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET).
Supreme Court Ruling on TET Qualification
As per the Supreme Court ruling on TET qualification of teachers, aspirants who want to become teachers, as well as in-service teachers who have not cleared the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) yet, need to appear for the CTET or TET exam and clear it within the next two years. Teachers who fail to clear the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) or state TET, whichever is applicable, within two years will have to quit or will have to opt for compulsory retirement.
CTET 2025 Notification & Dates Awaited
Candidates eagerly await the release of the CTET 2025 notification and exam date. September has already started, and there is no update from the board or CTET Unit regarding the holding of CTET exam in 2025. Last year (2024), the CTET examination was conducted thrice in January, July and December. In 2025, the exam has not been conducted once so far.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the CTET exam date 2026. The 21st edition of the CTET exam will be conducted on February 8, 2026. The CBSE CTET Feb 2026 exam will be organised offline in pen and paper mode. The CTET notification 2026 is expected soon.
