CSIR NET DBT-BET Merged: National Testing Agency has announced a major change in Joint CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) December 2026 exam. Department of Biotechnologyโs Biotechnology Eligibility Test (DBT-BET) has been merged with CSIR UGC NET Life Sciences, leading to introduction of a new discipline titled Life Sciences & Bio-technology (LS & BT).
This revised structure will come into effect from December 2026 exam cycle onwards. Candidates preparing for upcoming should take note of change and refer to revised CSIR NET syllabus 2026 before planning their preparation. As per official update, revised syllabus is available in CSIR Information Bulletin. Candidates can check updated syllabus and familiarise themselves with topics covered under new discipline.
DBT-BET Merged With CSIR UGC NET Life Sciences
Under revised arrangement, DBT-BET (Biotechnology) has been merged with CSIR NET Life Sciences. The change brings Biotechnology and Life Sciences under a common examination discipline, replacing existing separate exam structure for DBT-BET from December 2026 cycle onwards.
