Two arrests have been made in the CSIR-UGC NET 2025 paper leak case in Haryana. NTA has not yet issued any statement, however exams at some centres could be cancelled depending on the outcome of the investigation.

CSIR-UGC NET 2025 examination which was held on December 18, has landed in controversy after two persons were arrested in Haryana for allegedly leaking the question paper a day before the test. The alleged arrests has raised possibility that exams conducted at some of the centres could be cancelled if authorities find the integrity of test compromised.

Arrests were made following a police crackdown in Sonipat district, where investigators claim CSIR-UGC NET question paper was circulated on December 17, a day before the exam, held on December 18. As per reports, candidates were gathered at a private location and given access to exam paper in exchange for large sums of money.

According to police accused were part of an organised network that targeted aspirants appearing for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and PhD eligibility test. Several candidates were reportedly found at spot during raid and digital evidence related to leaked paper has been seized.

While National Testing Agency (NTA) has not yet issued an official statement on cancellation or re-examination, officials familiar with probe indicated that centre-specific action, including cancellation of exams held at affected centres cannot be ruled out if leak is confirmed during investigation.

CSIR-UGC NET is a national level examination that determines eligibility for lectureship, JRF and admission to PhD programmes across Indian universities and research institutions. Candidates who appeared for exam are advised to regularly check official NTA website for updates related to results, cancellations or further instructions.
