Civil Services (IAS) 2021 Main exam will not be postponed and it will be conducted as per the schedule released earlier by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). A group of litigants filed a petition in Delhi High Court to postpone the IAS main exam 2021. The candidates filed the petition in the Delhi High Court to postpone the IAS main exam 2021 because of the rising cases of COVID-19 infections. The COVID-19 infections are increasing because of the newly recognised Omicron strain of the Coronavirus.

Earlier, UPSC issued a notice reiterating that all the important and precautionary arrangements have been made at the exam centres and the necessary guidelines have been issued to the exam centres and the candidates to follow on the exam day. In the notice, UPSC also requested to all the state governments to ensure that the public transport remains functional at least one day before the exam date so the candidates do not face any difficulty in commuting to the exam centre.

Besides that, UPSC also stated that for the candidates coming from the containment and micro containment zone, the IAS main 2021 admit card can be considered as the travel pass.
Delhi High Court heard the petition on January 6 and rejected the plea, stating that it will not interfere in the ongoing exam process.
