RRB Group D 2025 Court Case Update

Central Administrative Tribunal has given its final verdict in favour of Railways. Now, RRB Group D exam 2025 will be conducted smoothly without any legal issues. Earlier, Delhi High Court had issued a stay order after a contempt petition was filed, stopping all RRB Group D exam related activities. The case was later moved to CAT, which directed Railway Recruitment Boards to pause Group D recruitment until final judgment. Now, as of November 12, 2025, CAT has dismissed petition and confirmed that both ITI and 10th pass candidates are eligible for the exam.

With this final verdict it is likely that RRB Group D new exam dates will be announced. As per previous dates released, RRB Group D was scheduled to be held from November 17. However, as of now, no city intimation slip or admit card has been released. Therefore, it is likely that new RRB Group D exam dates 2025 can be announced.

RRB Group D 2025 Court Case Background: 10th vs ITI Eligibility Dispute

The case started earlier this year over who could apply for Group D posts: only ITI-qualified candidates or 10th pass candidates as well. This dispute delayed RRB Group D recruitment and scheduled Computer-Based Test (CBT), which was originally planned to begin from November 17, 2025. With final verdict now out, both 10th pass and ITI candidates are eligible to appear for RRB Group D exam.
