RRB NTPC 2025 CBAT/CBTST on December 28; Check Exam Guidelines for Typing Test
RRB NTPC Graduate posts CBAT/CBTST 2025 will be held on December 2025. Candidates appearing for exam must go through RRB NTPC compter based typing skill test guidelines released by railways.
RRB NTPC Typing Test 2025: Railway Recruitment Boards have released guidelines for candidates appearing for RRB NTPC Computer Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) 2025. As per schedule released, RRB NTPC graduate posts CBAT/CBTST will be conducted on December 28, and those appearing must be aware of instructions released by RRBs. RRB NTPC 2025 Typing Test Guidelines for Graduate Posts
RRB NTPC typing test is a qualifying stage for candidates who applied for Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, or Senior Clerk cum Typist posts. Check important guidelines
Language and Word Requirement
Candidates are required to type
- At least 300 words in English, or
- At least 250 words in Hindi, within time duration specified
English will be the default typing language. Candidates opting to type in Hindi must be familiar with the use of Kruti Dev or Mangal font.
Structure of RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test
RRB NTPC Computer Based Typing Skill Test will have three parts
- Typing Practice Session: 1 minute, to familiarise candidates with keyboard
- Break: 30 seconds, provided before evaluation begins
- Typing Test: 10 minutes, during which candidate’s performance will be assessed
Typing Instructions and Qualification Criteria
- RRB NTPC typing skill test is conducted to assess typing speed and accuracy. Candidates who complete typing test before end of exam duration may retype passage from the beginning within remaining time.
- Candidates who fail to type complete passage at least once within 10 minutes will be treated as disqualified. Further, transcripts of candidates who do not type the minimum required words (300 in English or 250 in Hindi) within prescribed time will not be evaluated.
Evaluation of Typed Passage
The evaluation of typed passage will be carried out as follows
- Errors will be categorised as full and half mistakes.
- Up to 5% mistakes of total words typed may be ignored.
- The final count of mistakes will be calculated using the formula: Final Mistakes = Total Mistakes 5% of Total Words Typed
Calculation of Typing Speed
Typing speed will be calculated using the following formula
Typing Speed = (Total Words Typed − Final Count of Mistakes) ÷ Time (in minutes)
Example: If a candidate types 400 words in 10 minutes and commits 30 final mistakes, the typing speed will be calculated accordingly.
Minimum Qualifying Speed
To qualify in the typing skill test, candidates must achieve minimum speed of
- 30 words per minute (WPM) in English, or
- 25 words per minute (WPM) in Hindi
Candidates must note that use of editing tools or functions for correcting typed text is strictly prohibited.
