Railway Recruitment Boards will announce RRB NTPC 2025 UG Typing Skill Test (TST) dates shortly. Typing Skill Test is conducted for select undergraduate level posts under Non Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) recruitment.
Ongoing RRB NTPC 2025 recruitment drive is being conducted to fill 11,558 vacancies for graduate and undergraduate posts.

RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test: Pattern and Requirements
RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test (CBST) is a qualifying examination conducted for specific clerical posts. Performance in this test does not add marks to CBT score.
- Duration: 10 minutes
- Typing speed: 30 words per minute in English, or 25 words per minute in Hindi
- Mode: Computer-based test conducted on a PC
- Nature: Qualifying only
RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test: Error Calculation Rules
- Errors up to 5% of total typed words are ignored
- After permissible limit, every full or half mistake results in word deduction
- Final speed is calculated after adjusting for errors
Who Should Appear for Typing Skill Test
Typing Skill Test is mandatory for posts such as:
- Junior Clerk cum Typist
- Account Clerk cum Typist
- Roles such as Station Master do not involve a Typing Skill Test.
Exemption from Typing Skill Test
Candidates belonging to certain PwBD categories, including, Blindness, Cerebral Palsy, Locomotor Disability (more than 40%) are exempted from Typing Skill Test, subject to valid medical certification.
