SSC will hold CGL Tier 2 exams in January or February 2026.

Staff Selection Commission Chairman S. Gopalakrishnan has said that the SSC CGL Tier 1 result for 2025 will be declared by December 2025. The Tier 1 exam took place from 12 to 26 September across 255 centres in 126 cities. Out of 28 lakh registered candidates, more than 13.5 lakh appeared.

A re-exam was held on 14 October for candidates affected by technical problems at certain centres. Provisional answer keys and response sheets were uploaded on 17 October. The window for raising objections closed on 19 October. SSC received close to 1,000 objections that covered over 4,500 questions from the 45 different question papers used in the 45 shifts.

Chairman Gopalakrishnan said that SSC has to go through every objection carefully. There were 45 shifts, 45 papers and roughly 4,500 questions in total. That process takes time, but the result will be out by December, reported NDTV.

He added that Tier 2 exams are scheduled for January or February 2026.The recruitment is for 18,236 Group B and C posts in various central government ministries and departments, including Junior Statistical Officer and Statistical Investigator Grade II.

Once declared, the result will be a PDF file listing roll numbers and names of shortlisted candidates. It will be available on ssc.gov.in under the โ€œResultsโ€ tab. No login is required to download the merit list. Individual scorecards can be accessed using roll number and date of birth.

Candidates are advised to keep an eye on the official SSC website for the exact date and any further notices.

Candidates qualifying for the paper are then called to appear for the next stage of the exam - tier 2. If all stages of the exam are over and candidates have successfully qualified all the stages of the exam then they are allotted posts in various departments of the Government of India as per the available SSC CGL vacancies. The candidates need to wait for the official intimation regarding the appointment dates and location. As per the new notification, the candidates need to report for the Document Verification at the indented department.
