CDS 2 Exam 2025: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) II on September 14, 2025. The CDS admit card has already been released for all the registered candidates. They can download the CDS 2 admit card online by visiting the official website: upsc.gov.in. After downloading the CDS admit card, they must go through the important instructions to be followed on the exam day mentioned on it.

Important Instructions for CDS 2 2025 Exam Day

With the exam just around the corner, here are some important instructions and guidelines that candidates must follow:

CDS 2 Admit Card and Valid ID Proof

  • Carry a printed copy of the CDS e-admit card downloaded from the official UPSC website.
  • Bring a valid photo identity proof (Aadhaar card, PAN card, voter ID, passport, or driving license).
  • Ensure that the details on the CDS 2 admit card match the ID proof.

CDS Reporting Time and Entry Rules

  • Candidates should report to the exam venue well before the reporting time mentioned on the admit card.
  • No entry will be allowed after the gate-closing time.
  • Latecomers will not be permitted under any circumstances.

UPSC CDS Dress Code

No specific uniform is prescribed for the CDS written test, but candidates must follow the general exam dress code rules:

  • Wear simple, decent, and comfortable clothes (formal or semi-formal).
  • Avoid flashy or heavy accessories.
  • Do not wear smart watches, jewellery, metallic objects, caps, goggles, etc.
  • Wear slippers/sandals with low heels instead of shoes if the centre has a strict frisking policy.

Items Permitted and Prohibited at CDS 2 Exam Centre

  • Carry only essential stationery items: black ballpoint pens, admit card, and ID proof.
  • Electronic devices such as mobile phones, calculators, Bluetooth devices, or any digital gadgets are prohibited.
  • Bags and valuables should be avoided, as there may not be secure arrangements at the venue.
  • Candidates must maintain discipline inside the exam hall

CDS 2 OMR Sheet and Answer Marking

  • Use only a black ballpoint pen for marking CDS answers on the OMR sheet.
  • Fill in the roll number and other details carefully to avoid rejection of the answer sheet.
  • Candidates should not attempt to erase or overwrite answers.

  • Reach the CDS exam centre early to avoid last-minute stress.

UPSC released the final merit list for the CDS 2 2024. A total of 574 candidates comprising 510 men and 64 women qualified for admission to the OTA, Chennai. Candidates who are selected will be inducted into the 122nd Short Service Commission Course (Non-Technical) for Men and 36th Short Service Commission Women (non-Technical) course, both scheduled to commence in October 2025.
