The decision for reopening the schools will only be taken after further assessment, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh said. 

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the schools across the state will be opened only after assessing the situation of coronavirus. The schools will be opened only when the state government is rest assured that it is safe for children. He was speaking at a press conference where he mentioned that the schools could not be opened yet due to the COVID-19 pandemic and were not to be opened to endanger the lives of the children. He further emphasised that the decision for reopening the schools will only be taken after further assessment. 

The Chief Minister also informed that the teachers have been at the forefront to ensure students don't suffer any academic loss. The teachers in the state have also delivered the study materials to more than 10 lakh students through 50,00 WhatsApp groups. He also added that the mid-day meal workers of the schools were provided with Rs 2,000 for the month of July for which a provision of Rs. 42 crore has also been allotted. 

While speaking at the press conference, the Chief Minister has also urged the school children to stay at home and study as per the time table provided. While addressing the children, the Chief Minister stated that Home is the school and if the children cannot go to school then their home itself can be converted into one. He further added that in order to endure the learning process continues the students from classes 1 to 8 have been provided with a daily time table also added that until schools reopen the students are to sit at home and study as per the time table provided.

The chief minister has also stated that the government has started a new radio programme for the school children through the All India Radio and Vanya Radio.
