Schools in West Bengal to reopen for classes 9 to 12 from February 12
The state education minister has also said that the schools have been sanitised thoroughly so students and teachers are not at risk of contracting the virus.
West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee has announced that the government has decided to reopen the schools across the state on February 12 for classes 9 to 12. Schools across the state have been kept closed due to coronavirus outbreak. It has been nearly ten months, that the offline classes have not been conducted in the schools. To avoid any academic loss, schools across the state have opted for online classes.
Along with West Bengal, several other states across the country are also reopening the schools this month under the strict coronavirus safety guidelines. It has been decided that the school administrations will also be monitored on how well they are implementing and following the Standard Operating Procedures.
The state education minister has also said that the schools have been sanitised thoroughly so students and teachers are not at risk of contracting the virus. However, in order to attend the school, the consent of parents is mandatory. Also, physical attendance may not be compulsory for students.
On January 17, the Education Minister has said that the schools across the state will reopen at the appropriate time. Some student and teacher associations had been demanding that the classes be resumed which was taken into consideration for the school reopening decision. The school buildings were being thoroughly sanitized at regular intervals as per SOPs.
The West Bengal Board Exams 2021 for WB 10th Board Exams will begin on June 1, 2021, and end on June 10, 2021. The WB state board exam for WB 12th Board Exams will begin on June 15, 2021, and ends on June 30, 2021.
