CUET 2027: 5 Things for Class 12 Students to Start Now

With CUET UG 2027 exam process starting soon, students planning to apply for the entrance examination must focus on below mentioned five things to get ahead:

1. Decide Target UG Course: Students must make a list of undergraduate courses they want to study after Class 12 as per their career goals and aspirations. This decision will impact the future course of action of a candidate. It is advised that candidates keep at least 2 courses as their backup plans in case things don't go well as per their plan. The decision should be made after taking everything into consideration.

2. Determine UG Subjects Required for Target University: After deciding which course/programme to pursue, candidates must also make a list of their target participating CUET colleges in order to find out the CUET UG subjects required for their admission. Universities will offer admission to a course only if a candidate meets its subject mapping requirement, along with other eligibility criteria and cut off marks. Candidates must carefully decide which subjects to choose as it can increase or decrease their course options.

3. Use Previous Year's Syllabus as Reference and Start Preparing for Exam: NTA will likely release the CUET UG 2027 syllabus in December 2026 on its official website. Until then, students can download the previous year's CUET syllabus PDF for their target subjects and start their exam preparation. The major portion of the exam is based on Class 12 NCERT books material; however, checking the syllabus is necessary as the exam pattern for CUET and Boards exam is different.

4. If Considering Coaching, Start Finding One Now or Join the Classes: Students planning to attend coaching classes must start finding one (online or offline) and start taking their classes, as most of the coaching institutes have already started their classes.

5. Take Help from Seniors or Counsellors: Taking insights from peers or students who have already taken CUET UG exam in previous sessions can prove to be useful, as they can help you make a better and proper study plan for the entrance exam preparation. From exam prep strategy to course selection and college list, counsellors and/or seniors can be of great help.
