CUET UG Exam Pattern 2027 Revised? NTA May Change Number of Questions and Timings

NTA is reportedly planning to revise CUET UG 2027 exam pattern to make the entrance test easier for students. The NTA CUET UG changes might include a major CUET UG question number reduction and shorter exam duration. Read further to know more. 

The National Testing Agency is planning major changes in CUET UG 2027 exam pattern. As per several media reports, the main aim of these NTA CUET UG changes 2027 is to make the examination process simpler. NTA is planning to implement these changes in NTA CUET UG exam pattern 2027 to make the process less time-consuming. 

At present, candidates have to travel to exam centres multiple times over many days because different subjects are scheduled on different dates. This often creates a lot of stress and increases travel expenses for students. To fix this issue, the NTA wants to introduce a CUET UG single day exam system. Under this plan, a student will be able to finish all their selected subject tests in a single day. Even though the entire CUET exam window will be conducted for 12 to 15 days, every candidate will get a single-day exam slot. However, official guidelines and final approvals are still pending from the higher department.

NTA to Reduce CUET UG 2027 Exam Timing and Question Numbers

The proposed changes are concerned with the exam timing and the number of questions asked in the exam. Right now, students get 60 minutes for each subject paper. The new proposal suggests reducing the CUET UG 2027 exam timing to just 40 or 45 minutes per subject. Since the CUET UG exam timing is likely to decrease, the number of questions will simultaneously drop. Instead of the usual 50 questions per subject, the CUET UG 2027 number of questions might reduce to 35 to 40 questions per paper. 

NTA & UGC Reviewing Number of Subjects Selection

Additionally, NTA and UGC are also reviewing the total number of subjects a student can choose. Currently, candidates can pick up to five subjects. The authorities might reduce this limit from five to four subjects. If a student takes four papers of 40 minutes each, they can finish the whole exam in 160 minutes. That means the entire test will be over in less than three hours.
