What Candidates Need to Know About Next ICAR PG Counselling Stage

ICAR PG Counselling 2026: Indian Council of Agricultural Research has started AIEEA PG 2026 counselling process for admission to postgraduate programmes in agriculture and allied sciences. Earlier, round 1 ICAR PG seat allotment was released on October 5, 2026. Candidates who have received an allotment now need to complete document verification, pay seat acceptance fee and follow reporting instructions.

ICAR AIEEA PG counselling is being conducted online. ICAR has scheduled multiple rounds of counselling, followed by a mop-up/final round if seats remain vacant. Candidates who did not get their preferred programme or university in Round 1 can participate in subsequent rounds, subject to ICAR PG counselling rules and available seats.

According to counselling schedule, ICAR AIEEA PG Round 2 allotment is scheduled for October 9, followed by further rounds on October 12 and 15. A mop-up/final round is scheduled later for candidates who remain eligible and for seats left vacant after regular rounds.

What Candidates Should Do After ICAR PG Round 1 Allotment? 

Candidates who have been allotted a seat should first log in to ICAR counselling portal and check their allotment status and provisional admission details. ICAR PG allotment letter should be downloaded and retained for future admission formalities.

The next important step is online document verification. The allotted university or institute will verify documents uploaded by candidate. They should monitor their ICAR PG counselling dashboard because university may raise a query or ask for a document to be uploaded again. If a document is marked for resubmission, candidates must upload corrected or required document. Missing last date can affect the provisional allotment and admission process.

ICAR PG Counselling 2026: Seat Acceptance Fee Is Mandatory

After uploaded documents are verified, candidates allotted a seat have to pay seat acceptance fee of INR 10,000 through ICAR counselling portal. Candidates should save payment confirmation or receipt after completing transaction. ICAR AIEEA PG counselling portal also advises candidates not to immediately make another payment if money has already been deducted but transaction has not been updated.

What If a Candidate Wants a Better Seat through ICAR PG Counselling 2026?

Candidates who are not satisfied with their ICAR PG round 1 allotment may have opportunity to get upgradation in subsequent rounds, subject to counselling rules. ICAR's counselling FAQ states that upgradation can be opted for during reporting for the first three rounds. If a candidate gets a better choice in a later round, the earlier allotted seat is cancelled, and they have to accept upgraded seat.

What Happens If No Seat Is Allotted in ICAR PG Round 1?

Candidates who did not receive a seat in round 1 should not assume that their admission opportunity has ended. ICAR has scheduled four regular counselling rounds, followed by a mop-up/final round if vacancies remain. The next allotment is scheduled for October 9, 2026.

Can Candidates Change Choices Now for ICAR PG Round 2 Counselling 2026?

ICAR PG counselling FAQ says that candidates can modify, add or delete choices during choice-filling period, but choice filling is not permitted in middle of counselling process. The choices saved at the end of applicable window are used for allotment.
