IIT JAM 2026 exam date has been announced by IIT Bombay. The JAM 2026 exam will be held on February 15, 2026, at more than 100 exam centres across the nation. The exam will be held for candidates taking admissions to the master's degree programmes offered at IITs, NITs and other JAM 2026 result-sharing institutes. IIT JAM 2026 Exam Date Announced
Recently JAM 2026 exam dates for the academic session 2026-2027 has been released. The exam will held on February 15, 2026 for admissions to the 89 postgraduate programmes across IITs and other participating institutes. JAM 2026 Exam will be conducted as a Computer Based Test in SevenTest Papers, namely, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Economics, Geology, Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, and Physics. There is no update on the addition of the Biological Science subject to the examination.
JAM 2026 online registrations will start September 5, 2025 onwards. JAM 2026 Scores to be used for admissions to over 2000 seats by IISc and various CFTIs including NITs, DIAT, IIEST, IISER Pune, IISER Bhopal, IIPE, JNCASR, SLIET, through CCMN.

JAM 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Prior to filling out the IIT JAM 2026 application form, aspirants must ensure that they fulfil the IIT JAM 2026 eligibility criteria.
- In order to fulfil the IIT JAM 2026 eligibility criteria, candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree.
- Candidates who had appeared or will appear for their graduation exams in 2026 are also eligible to apply, provided they submit the proof by September 2026.
- For the admission process, candidates who pass the IIT JAM 2026 exam will be eligible to apply for the admission process.
IIT JAM 2026 exam pattern states that each test paper is of three hours duration. In the exam, candidates need to attempt 60 questions which were of 100 marks weightage. These 60 questions are divided into three sections – A, B, and C. The medium of instruction for JAM test papers is English.

JAM 2026 Examination will be conducted in eight zones. The names of these eight zones with the list of zone-wise Examination Cities are listen on JAM 2026 exam centres (Probable Examination cities of JAM 2026). Candidates must specify their first, second and third choice of cities at the time of applying for JAM 2026. When the choice of first city is made, then the zone gets determined and the candidates will be able to choose the second and third choice city only from the same zone.
In case, any city in the choices is not allotted due to operational reasons, alternate city will be allotted. Candidates are requested to regularly check JAM 2026 website for updates regarding examination cities, if any.
