Tamil Nadu to hold final year exams after September 15; Check details here
University in Tamil Nadu has been directed to conduct final year exams for college students after September 15, the state government announced.
Tamil Nadu government has announced that it has decided to conduct the final year exams for college students after September 15. Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister K P Anbalagan while making the announcement said that the students will have to write the exam in person. As per the reports, around 4 lakh students will be appearing for the Tamil Nadu Final Year Exams 2020 in arts, science and other professional courses.
The exam date sheet and the exam center details will be made available to all the students soon. “The final semester exams for students in state universities and polytechnic colleges will be held after September 15. The details of the exam schedule and exam center will be released later. Arrangements are being made for all final year students to write exams in person,” the Minister said.
The Minister also urged the students to begin their preparations for the exam.
However, during a meeting conducted earlier by the department with Vice-Chancellors of State Universities, the state Higher Education Department had said that the terminal semester exams will likely be conducted before September 30, as directed by University Grants Commission (UGC).
The state’s decision to conduct the final year exams in person has surprised many universities as higher education departments were considering the exams to be conducted online.
Meanwhile, Anna University has said that it is planning to conduct the exams online in the next two weeks. Former Vice-Chancellor of Anna University said, “When the government can conduct the physical exams for all final year students, why don’t they conduct arrear exams in a similar way.”
