UGC extends last date to apply for online courses
UGC extended the last date for submitting applications for the online courses and other courses offered under Open and Distance Learning mode for the February-March session until April 30.
Online Course Application Window: The University Grants Commission (UGC) extended the last date for submitting applications for the online courses and other courses offered under Open and Distance Learning mode for the February-March session until April 30. Candidates interested in online courses must note that according to the latest orders released by UGC all the universities and higher education institutions who are offering online courses for the current academic year can continue accepting online applications from the candidates.
UGC also directed that the affiliated universities must ensure to update their admission notification on their respective official websites and open the online application window until April 30. The admissions will be accepted on the UGC DEB web portal. After the closure of the application window, the participating universities and colleges are required to upload their admission details on the portal by May 15. The Commission extended that admission application date to facilitate the admission process for candidates facing problems due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation.
UGC has been offering Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCS) using the government’s SWAYAM portal. Institutes and academics are also invited by UGC to develop the online courses for the portal. Earlier in December 2020 approximately 78 undergraduate and 46 postgraduate non-engineering MOOCS were announced by UGC.
