The Government of Sri Lanka has invited applications from Indian Nationals for the award of scholarships available from December 2013 onwards for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Sri Lanka.

The Government of Sri Lanka has invited applications from Indian Nationals for the award of scholarships available from December 2013 onwards for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Sri Lanka.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate:

  1. Aspirants with good results in an examination deemed equivalent to G.C.E. (Advance Level) Examination of Sri Lanka with minimum 60% marks can apply to universities in Sri Lanka.
  • Applicants must attach their applications to the original letter obtained from the Examinations Board concerned, to prove that their educational qualifications are equivalent to the G.C.E (A/L) examination or qualifications required for Bachelor degree admission to a university in their own country.

2. Age: Applicants should be less than 25 years of age on October 15, 2013

Postgraduate:

  1. Applicants should hold a first degree from a recognized university with good academic record with minimum 60% marks for admission to the postgraduate program
  2. Age: They should be less than 45 years of age on October 15, 2013

Required documents:

  1. Certified copy of Birth Certificate
  2. Certified copy of official evidence of any name change
  3. Certified copy of the personal page of applicant’s passport
  4. Certified copies of the graduation/post-graduation certificates
  5. Certified copies of the academic transcripts as given below:
  • G.C.E A/L and G.C.E O/L transcripts or their equivalent (For undergraduate students)
  • Graduation and post-graduation transcripts (if any) (For postgraduate students)

7. Security Vetting

8. Two Referee reports for postgraduate students (preferred from applicant’s current employer/former lecturer/academic supervisor)

The last date to apply is September 13, 2013. Applications received after this will not be considered.  On-line applications may be accepted only if the hard copy of the application along with enclosures (attested copies of certificates, mark sheet etc.) reach the Ministry within 7 days after the last date.
