The Karnataka government founded the public university known as Vijayanagara Krishnadevaraya University (VSKUB), located in Bellary. The institution comprises 4 postgraduate campuses, 120 affiliated colleges, and 28 departments. It provides courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels in a range of subjects related to science, the humanities, business, and management.
Undergraduate student selection is based solely on merit, but postgraduate and doctoral student selection also involves counseling. Karnataka PGCET is the entrance exam for MBA and MCA programs. For admission to the Ph.D. research programme at VSKUB, candidates must pass an entrance exam and/or any other national exam, which is followed by an interview.
