The university reviews applicants on the basis of their academic profile along with participation in co-curricular activities. Once that is done, selected students are called for a personal interview round. During the PI process, the interviewer asks several questions to evaluate students' academic knowledge, logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and more.

ICFAI University Shillong has closed the BCom application portal for the academic year 2025. The deadline to submit the BCom application form was 24 Jul, 2025. Students who could not get admission or did not apply can wait for the next admission cycle to begin. The applications for next year are expected to be released in June 2026.
