Candidates with a valid Bachelor's degree of 4 years after BSc / Diploma in Engineering/Technology) or candidates who are currently in the final year or already completed; an MSc/MCA or equivalent master’s degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent are eligible to apply. Moreover, course aspirants who have taken Professional Society Examinations (equivalent to BE/BTech/BArch) recognised by MHRD/ UPSC/AICTE (e.g., AMIE by Institution of Engineers-India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers-India) are also eligible to apply for PhD in Amrita University.

Amrita University accept applications for only the students who fulfil the eligibility requirements. Thus, a candidate must be a Class 12 or equivalent pass from a recognised board with at least 55% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics separately and should have secured at least 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. Additionally, candidates should hold the mark sheet and pass certificate as well at the time of form filling and admission confirmation.
