Asansol Engineering College (AEC) has a mixed reputation for placements.

Recent data (2023) shows a significant increase in the placement percentage compared to previous years,  reaching 6.85%.

This shows an upward trend in terms of placement.The college has a dedicated Training & Placement Cell that aims to provide students with career guidance and support throughout their job search.

Many big companies came in college for the pacement  like Persistent Systems Limited, Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd., Capgemini, TVS Motors, and TCS have been known to visit the campus for placements.

Asansol Engineering College has below criteria for taking admissions to it's various courses:

B.E. / B.TechCandidate must have passed Diploma course in Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy from any AICTE recognised Polytechnic/Institute with at least overall 60% marks
Or
Candidate have passed 10+2 level with Mathematics as a subject and Degree in Science (B.Sc.) from U.G.C. approved Universities with at least 60% marks.
% of Batch placed is as per year 2021.
M.E./M.TechCandidates completed M.Sc. In Electronics /Physics (with Electronics special) or equivalent to B.E./B.Tech from any recognised institute/university are also eligible to apply.
MCACandidate who qualify eligibility as given below can also apply:
Module 4
Candidate must have obtained a BSc Honours degree under (10+2+3) pattern in any discipline from a UGC recognised University/Institute with a minimum of 60% marks in Aggregate (45% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) along with at least 55% marks in Mathematics.
They must secure at least 60% marks in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent level from recognised Boards with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at each level.
Candidate have to secure 60% marks (45% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) at each level of education.
