The B.Sc. admission process for Gauhati University (GU) operates through the CUET-UG (Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduates). For the 2025–26 academic session, the CUET-UG application window was open from March 1 to March 22, 2025 . The CUET-UG exam was conducted between May 8 and June 1, 2025 . The CUET-UG results are expected to be announced in July 2025 .
After the CUET-UG results are released, GU will initiate the admission process for B.Sc. programs. While specific dates for the form filling are not yet confirmed, the admission process is expected to commence in August 2025 .

Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) is calculated for each semester. It evaluates students on the basis of overall performance in a semester. Whereas Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is calculated at the end of the course. CGPA calculates overall performance of the student during the programme.

BSc programmes is divided into six semesters. Subjects are usually divided intio Discipline-Specific Core (DSC) subjects and Discipline-Specific Electives (DSE) subjects. Students also gain hands on experience as part of practical component of the course. Both theory exam and Internal Assessment holds weightage in BSc total marks.

Calicut University BSc have several components. Apart from annual tuition fees, BSc students at Calicut University must also pay a one-time fee that costs around INR 440 to INR 12,500. Sometimes it also depends on the specialisation. These may include admission fees, caution deposits, or lab facilities charges.

As per the NIRF 2024 report, the University of Calicut placed 5 UG (3-year) students during the 2023 placement drive, including BSc graduates. The median package offered was INR 2.61 LPA. Previous year trends shows consistent results. Placement record shows the number of students getting jobs from the campus.
