The marking scheme of the AMU B.Sc. Hons. Entrance Exam is such that candidate gets 1 mark per correct answer. The marking of incorrect answers is negative where 0.25 marks are deducted on each incorrect answer. The test generally comprises 100 objective type questions in each of the mandatory subjects such as English, Physics and Chemistry and an optional one such as Mathematic, Biology or Home Science based on the B.Sc. Hons. stream selected.

Yes, IHM Goa has a great scope of industry exposure as all its students have to complete a compulsory internship and undergo on-job training. Industrial training of students in the course is done in established hotels and hospitality organizations. This can assist them to get a working idea and to be more employable. Campus placements are also done in the institute to facilitate students during the start of their careers.

In order to be considered to these BSc classes of IHM Goa, the students are required to be able to pass class 12 or its equivalents with English as one of the streams. They should attend NCHMCT JEE held by NTA. Maximum age of candidates who have reached 25 years of age on the 1st of July in the year of admission (3 years relaxation in a case of SC/ST). Selection at the end is according to the placement in the entrance examination.
