In this academic year cutoff is 240+ mark required but cutoff mark can be vary from year to year. 85% requirement in each paper. Also if you are planning to take a leave you have to inform the class teacher or H.O.D. ( depends on the department). It is extremely strict. If it is a medical reason you can pay certain amount of fee and write the paper. Else you'll have to repeat the semester.

Yes, entrance exams may be required to enter into a B.Sc. course. This depends on which college or university you would prefer to get into. While a few institutes admit students based on their performance in Class 12 board exams, most of the other institutes require students to clear a certain entrance exam like CUET, BHU UET, or NPAT. Completing class 12 from any recognised board and scoring at least 50% aggregate with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology will be qualifying. Criteria will vary across institutions applied to and exam processes/entrance procedures involved.

The cutoff varies from year to year for B.Sc. in Physics at Stella Maris College and varies category-wise. For general category students, the previous year's cutoff for the B.Sc. Physics course was around 90-95% in the qualifying exams. It is advisable to check on their official website or contact the college to get the exact figures for this year.
