The College of Vocational Studies (CVS) is renowned for emphasizing education that is both career- and practical-focused. Also Deen Dayal Upadhyaya college ranks 48th in NIRF rankings. College of Vocational Studies was founded in 1972 with emphasis on vocational courses. It is a co-educational college which offers the traditional courses and vocational courses under the same roof. It is among the pioneer institutions in the country to offer Vocational education and seeks to break new ground by bridging the gap between traditional University education and changing socio-economic environment.

On the other hand, BA in Hindi stood as the least competitive specialisation with a General-All India cutoff score of 82.

College of Vocational Studies follows the seat reservation policy laid by the Delhi University. As per the official website of DU, a total of 22½% of the seats are reserved for admission of SC/ST category students. The seat reservation breakdown for the SC/ST category is as follows:
- 15% of seats are reserved for the Scheduled Castes (SC) category
- 7½% seats have been reserved for the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category

College of Vocational Studies BA is allocated based on marks obtained in the entrance examination. Moreover, the students seeking admission must register and apply for CUET-UG. After appearing for the exam, students must register themselves on the CSAS portal.
