Yes,it is worth taking over any of the private institutions or state government colleges. Most of the people are either from North India or from South India,dominated by Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal including almost all of the Indian states and UTs. All the NIT Mz hostels and college cafeteria get served with both veg and non veg(Egg & Chicken) items,all basic facilities like water supply, washing machine,a good and healthy physical and mental environment,etc. nurturing good atmosphere, yes there are lil complications in living in Mizoram for locals,like water shortages and all, but NIT Mizoram provides all the require

 NIT Mizoram JEE Main cutoff 2026 was published for admission to the BTech and its various branches for both the OBC AI and HS quota categories. The cutoff has been released for the first round in the form of ranks. 

For the OBC AI quota, the round 1 cutoff ranged from 11344 to 17156, with BTech CSE and BTech in Civil Engineering being the most and least competitive branches for admission. 

On the other hand, for the OBC HS quota, the same round cutoff was only declared for one branch, ie, BTech CSE with the cutoff of 539090

All the latest updates regarding NIT Mizoram admissions are as follows:

  • The XAT 2026 registration window is now closed for MBA/PGDM courses, and the exam will be held on Jan 4, 2026.
  • The GATE 2026 exam for admission to ME/Mtech and PhD courses will be conducted from Feb 7, 2026 to Feb 8, 2026, and then from Feb 14, 2026 to Feb 15, 2026.
  • The JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam for admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses will tentatively be conducted between Jan 21 and Jan 30, 2026.

Since you're weak in Physics, CSE at IIIT Bhubaneswar is the best choice—good placements, manageable Physics, and better infrastructure. NIT Mizoram is remote, and ECE at IIIT Jabalpur requires more Physics.

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Mizoram has 18 courses. The total fee for the B.Tech course is INR 5.43 Lakhs. This includes all fees, such as the admission fee and exam fee. The total fees for other courses are as follows: 
 
  • PhD: INR 45K
  • B.E. / B.Tech: 5 L
  • M.E./M.Tech: 1.4 L
The average fee per year at NIT Mizoram is INR 1,51,925. 
 
The fee structure for the first year, first semester is INR 26,400. The fee for the second semester is INR 13,000. For the second year, fourth semester, the fee is INR 13,000. 
 
The hostel admission fee is INR 500. Room rent is INR 2,500

NIT Mizoram CCMN cutoff 2025 has been announced across multiple specialisations, wherein the closing ranks varied between 350 and 380 for the students belonging to the General AI quota. Therefore, admission at 100 rank is possible for NIT Mizoram.
