UOK Kota is a state-government university. UOK Kota was established in 2003 by the Government of Rajasthan and is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC). The University of Kota is accredited with a B Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Through its 5 faculty, more than 15 departments, 6 shodhpeeth, and 192 affiliated colleges, Kota University provides undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, Diploma, and Certificate programmes to students in the fields of Social Science, Law, Commerce & Management, Science and Education.

By establishing MoUs with organisations like the Centre for Climate Science & Policy Research, Linkoping University in Sweden, DCM Sriram Consolidated Limited Kota, and others, the university has partnerships on a national and international level.
