CAT cut-off for general category of our college stays at around 95 percentile. However, if you have exceptional profile you might receive a call. Just keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best!

If you personally have interest in finance then you should definitely go for it. We have 1-2 mechanical engineering students in our class with core work-experience and approximately half of the class has engineering background.

This is a highly subjective question because it has been observed over the past years that category cut-offs vary alot. But your friend does have a decent chance of getting a call. Rule wise anybody can apply but in the end it is your judgement.

Yes sectional cutoff is considered from CAT. It is 70 percentile in each of the three sections.
