Course fee of interior design courses in India differ considerably depending on the school (government / private), period of learning as well as city, with range of 5,000 Indian rupee (INR) / short certificate to INR 20, 00, 000 / full time undergraduate/ postgraduate degree. Serveral top colleges in India offer Bachelor of Science BSC in interior designs including both private and public institution some of the most reputable include Pearl Academy Amity University CEPT University and Lovely Professional University this institution of a strong programme with hands on training and industry connection

Sad news NID admissions for B.Des are strictly through the entrance test (NID DAT). There usually isn't any “backdoor” or alternate route for admissions unless you qualify under rare reserved/foreign or supernumerary categories. Always verify with the official NID notifications for exceptions.

For the NID Prelims, a score of 19 is on the lower side for the OBC category. In previous years, OBC candidates who qualified for the next round had scores above 40–55 out of 100. So, with 19, sadly, it's not likely you'll make it past the prelims—but don't lose hope, as each exam is a learning experience for the next.

While B.Des in Interior and Furniture design and B.Des in Interior Design share many similarities, they are not exactly the same. B.Des in Interior and Furniture typically includes a more specialised focus on furniture design within the broader field of interior design, whereas B.Des in Interior Design is a more general program.

Yes — Jamia Millia Islamia has formally introduced the Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) program, but it is set to start in the 2025–26 academic year and is yet to commence classes.

JMI's 2025–26 prospectus, released in early March 2025, officially included the 4-year Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) among 14 new programs being launched

All applicants to B.Des (Hons.) are automatically evaluated for merit scholarships — up to 50% tuition fee relief, based on your composite score: 10+2 marks, Woxsen Design Test (WDT) or alternative accepted test (NID, NIFT, UCEED, CUET), psychometric test, portfolio review, and interview.
