Yes, you absolutely can. Most top fashion design colleges in India do not require a prior design background for admission. What they look for is creativity, observation skills, and your performance in the entrance exam which usually includes a creative ability test, situation test, and personal interview. Colleges like NIFT and NID conduct their own entrance exams that test your design thinking rather than textbook knowledge. So even if you come from a Science or commerce background, you can crack these exams with the right preparation.

BDes fees at NMIMS, Mumbai is currently unknown for this year. Institute will reveal BDes fees once admission process is over. Last year, BDes fees at NMIMS, Mumbai stood at INR 20 lakh. This fees was charged in four equal installments of INR 5 Lacs each.

Yes, candidates can apply for BDes at NMIMS, Mumbai before Class 12 board exam results have been revealed.

Such candidates will beoffered provisional admission, if they are selected during evaluation rounds. 

These candidates will need to provide a copy of their Digilocker within 7 days of Class 12 board exam result reveal.

Candidates will need to provide these documents during NMIMS University, Mumbai BDes admissions:

  • Class 10th and Class 12th passing certificate and marksheet
  • ID and address proof
  • Portfolio
  • Transfer certificate

Students have to fill application form on official website as first step of admission process. Post which, candidates have to appear for JET exam conducted by university. Those applying on the basis of UCEED scores can skip JET. The university shortlists students for reviewing portfolios. Then, a personal interview round is conducted. Students who clear all stages can go for the last step that is document verification & fee payment.

NMIMS, Mumbai BDes eligibility criteria does not require candidates to have Mathematics or Statistics in Class 12th to be eligible for admission. Chosen stream or set of subjects are irrelevant for BDes admission at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai.

Yes, Jain University offers a four-year BDes programme in full-time mode. The course is available in three specialisations. Admissions in the course are based on JET/ UCEED scores followed by portfolio review and PI.

No, NMIMS, Mumbai BDes admission is not open for direct admissions. Candidates need to appear in NMIMS DAT/HT in order to apply for BDes course. Selection process will also include a Studio Test, Portfolio review as well as a personal interview round.

No, internship is not a part of BDes curriculum at Jain University. However, a Graduation Design Project is a part of eighth semester syllabus. It is compulsory for students of all specialisations to complete the project in last year of the course.

The course is available in full-time mode for four-years. The available courses are Product Design, Communication Design and Interaction Design.
