No, there is not provision of direct admission to M.Tech at NIT Trichy. Aspirants must appear and qualify for GATE exam with a valid score. Other than this, candidates must pass graduation with minimum 60% aggregate in order to apply for this course. The final seat allocation is done through CCMT Counselling process. All these steps are mandatory to get admission to NIT Trichy M.Tech course.

GATE Round 6 has been released for admission to the M.Tech courses. As per NIT Trichy cutoff 2023, the GATE Round 6 closing rank was 637 for General category candidates in All India quota for Computer Science & Engineering. Further, from comparing with the last two years' closing ranks, the competition has gradually increased for the current year.
