Part B of the CSIR NET exam consists of subject-specific questions. The questions in Part B are designed to assess the candidate's in-depth knowledge, understanding, and application of concepts in their chosen subject. The specific types of questions in Part B can vary depending on the subject, but here are some common question formats:
1. Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs): These are the most common question types in Part B. Candidates are presented with a stem or a question, followed by four options, and they need to select the correct answer. MCQs may involve direct knowledge-based questions, concept-based questions, or application-based questions.
2. Assertion-Reasoning Questions: These questions consist of two statements, an assertion, and a reasoning statement. Candidates need to evaluate the validity of each statement and select the correct option based on their assessment.
3. Matching Type Questions: Candidates are provided with two columns containing statements or descriptions. They need to match items from one column to the corresponding items in the other column based on their knowledge and understanding of the subject.
4. True/False Questions: Candidates are presented with statements, and they need to determine whether the statements are true or false based on their subject knowledge.
5. Statement-Reason Questions: Candidates are given a statement, and they need to choose the correct reason from the options provided. These questions test the candidate's ability to establish a cause-and-effect relationship or logical connection. The number of questions and the marks allotted for each question in Part B may vary depending on the subject. It is important for candidates to thoroughly study the syllabus of their chosen subject and practice solving questions of similar formats to prepare effectively for Part B of the CSIR NET exam.

ATMA cutoff is released by the participating institutes after the announcement of the ATMA result. More than 500 MBA colleges accept ATMA scores. ATMA scores are accepted for other courses such as MCA and MS as well. The ATMA cut-off is different for all institutes and courses. These cutoffs will be available on the official website of each participating college or institute. Candidates who have appeared for the ATMA exam must meet the cutoff of their preferred institute in order to gain admission to that particular institute. According to the previous cutoff trends, the ATMA cutoff generally ranges from 75 to 90 percentile in the top colleges accepting ATMA. Last year, the highest ATMA cutoff was for PUMBA, Pune. Shortlisted candidates who match the cutoff will be called for further selection procedure, which includes, Written Ability Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
