LPU pushes its students and prepares them for placements so that their hard work culminates in a zenith. And in LPU There is a separate Department Called Multimedia which comes under the school of design III. Which has a specific B.Sc. ( 3years) and a B. design (4 years) degree in gaming. Department is well-equipped with high-end workstations and labs and it has gaming studios, where students can play and test the games on play station, PC, and x box platforms. For Gaming, Multimedia, and Graphics LPU is one the best place in India. It provides UG and PG degrees. LPU has ample space, highly qualified specialised faculty members from the industries, and well-equipped Labs and resources. It has different studios for 2D and 3D work, Visual effects, Graphics, Gaming so students can work effectively. Placements are marvelous as students are working with the leading brands like Rockstar Games, Amazon, Sixr, kony India, lollypop design studio etc. With packages from 5 to 36 Lacs per annum. Moreover, Department has a separate Gaming studio also where students can play and test the games on Ps4 and xbox 360. Department focus from Game design to execution with complete production pipeline. Its 95 percent practical-based course with hands-on experience with software like unity, Maya, Substance painter, brush etc. And live projects too. My Cousin's brother completed his B. Design degree from Lovely Professional University. He is placed in Rockstar games now as Lead Facial Animator. He worked in Red Dead redemption 2 and now working in GTAVI. As his feedback, I would like to recommend that LPU is one of the best places in India for Multimedia, Graphics, and Gaming. The faculty members are from the industry like red chilies Studios, Prime focus studios and they have experience of more than 15 years. The multimedia department has a separate block and has well-equipped labs with dell workstations to handle high-end software like adobe after effects, Unity Maya, Cinema 4D, 3ds Max, Nuke, Fusion, Z brush, photoshop, etc. Even the department has good quality of resources like Black magic cinemas cameras, canon cameras, trolly, jib, and well-equipped special VFX studio with permanent Chroma backgrounds. Placements are also great. This year also his friends and juniors got placed in companies like Amazon, rockstar games, Kony India, Xentrix studios, Lolly POP Design Studio etc. With average packages of 5 Lacs per annum and maximum packages are 8 to 10 Lacs. The decision is all up to what to choose. Both are good fields in their respective ways. It totally depends on you and your interests and skills to choose. Game development and game designing what's the difference between them?
If you choose Game development you have to polish your coding skills as games are programs and it needs coding to function or do the certain task as a developer you have to learn coding languages there are many platforms to make games and different platforms come with different coding language but the most common language is c+ and c#. Game designing if you choose to be a game designer then you have to deal mostly with the graphics part. As games are 2d type and 3d type. You have to learn different applications to do 2d graphics or 3D graphics. You have to design animate the scenes or the levels. you have to learn skills of character designing and animation.
Both are good to choose from and have good future placements just choose what you will enjoy doing the developing part or the designing part.
I am a 3D artist to as a 3D artist you have many fields to explore as a game designer as a product designer as a 3D visualizer of interior designs.
Also as a developer, you can do many things developing games, applications, security systems.
