Yes, GATE admit card 2026 have respective exam date and shift time mentioned. Candidates must check the details carefully before downloading. The GATE hall ticket was released on January 13, 2026.

No, changing exam center after release of GATE hall ticket is not allowed. Hall ticket of GATE 2026 will be released anytime soon. The GATE admit card release date has been postponed.

Candidates can choose upto three exam cities/centers while filling the GATE application form. The exam city preference must be from the same zone itself.

The GATE exam will be conducted in more than 300 cities across eight zones in India. There are no international centres. Candidates who wish to appear for the exam must travel to India. The details regarding the test city and address will be mentioned in the GATE admit card 2027.

The GATE zones are the authorities that perform any operations related to the GATE examination. These are managed by the GATE offices of IISc and IITs. The list of GATE zones is as follows-

Yes, of course, the selection of the GATE exam centre completely depends on the candidate's convinience and interest. They can choose any exam centre across India, regardless their college or hometown.
NOTE: A candidate can choose 3 cities from the list given above. All the three choices must be from the same GATE 2026 zone.

GATE 2026 is divided into eight zones, each managed by an IIT or IISc. Each zone contains a list of cities where exam centres are located. You must choose your cities from a single zone only.
The list of the eight GATE 2026 zones is as follows -
- Zone 1 - IISc Bengaluru
- Zone 2 - IIT Bombay
- Zone 3 - IIT Delhi
- Zone 4 - IIT Guwahati
- Zone 5 - IIT Kanpur
- Zone 6 - IIT Kharagpur

Yes, candidates can change their GATE exam centre at the time of editing the GATE application form (during the correction facility). Candidates can access the GATE 2026 application form correction window at the GOAPS portal and submit it by paying the requisite amount.

Candidates can select their GATE exam centres at the time of filling out the GATE 2026 application form. The GATE application form 2026 is now available. Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria must go through the eligibility conditions and apply before the due date. Candidates can select upto three cities (from the same zone) from the list provided by the authorities. The list of the GATE 2026 can be checked zone-wise, which is as follows -

- Zone 3 - IIT Delhi
