Indira Gandhi Government Medical College cutoff 2024 for the admission to MD and MS courses has been released. The closing ranks for NEET PG courses was 1376 to 130841 for the General AI category candidates. Going as per the last three-year cutoff trends, the cutoff shown a fluctuating trend over three years. So, it is expected that, in the year 2025, the cutoff will decrease for the available courses.

Based on the NEET ranks, scoring 6 lakhs, you probably stand no chance in joining a government medical college. Intake Ranks The cutoff ranks to government medical colleges under NEET are extremely high from 1000- 50000 for General category and from 50000- 150000 for SC/ST/OBC categories. Out of the total MBBS seats about 90,000 approximately, 15% are for All India Quota and the remaining 85% for state quota. You may not even qualify to join any government medical college depending on your rank. There are private medical colleges and deemed universities and you may want to find out the possibilities to study there.

It is extremely unlikely that someone with a NEET score of 55 out of 720 will get admitted to a government medical college. Because of the fierce rivalry, government medical schools typically have higher cutoffs. The following variables affect cutoff marks:

Cutoffs vary by category such as General, OBC SC/ST or EWS.
All India Quota vs. State Quota: The All India Quota has slightly higher cutoffs than the State Quota.
Annual Patterns: Depending on the volume of applications and degree of difficulty cutoffs change.

The OBC category's NEET UG qualifying marks are in the 45th percentile. The NEET cutoff for OBC in 2024 is 161-127. The last year's NEET cutoff for the OBC category was 136-107.
