Final selection to PhD is based on the overall merit at master’s degree and performance in entrance exam conducted by University of Mumbai, followed by performance in PI. However, who have qualified GATE/NET/SET/ CSIR (JRF) are exempted from taking the entrance examination.

Yes, candidates UGC CSIR qualification are exempted from PhD entrance test. However, they have to sit for an interview round conducted by the University.

For PhD programme, candidates are selected on the basis of marks scored in entrance test and performance in interview round conducted by the University. The entrance test is a theory paper based on postgraduate level syllabus with a weightage of 80 per cent. The remaining weightage of 20 per cent is given to the candidate’s score in interview.
Eligibility Criteria: Master’s degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST category candidates) OR Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accounts or Institute of Cost and Works Accountants or qualified as company secretary.
