It seems difficult because last year, the cutoff is 96% for general category, It varies from year to year & also depending on whether you want to take admission in grant or non-grant. However, getting above 80% means that you have a good chance of getting admission.

Of course it's indeed great idea to pursue PhD part time. You must do it. It's actually quite simple. You have to clear an exam to become eligible for PhD. Then find a guide and after discussing with guide decide on your research topic. You can study at your convenience and complete PhD. Best wishes

I doubt if the college will allow it. Since how will you attend classes for both these programs simultaneously. But there is no harm in attempting. Try to meet principal and explain your interest. May be you will be allowed!!
