Your daughter can apply for PhD at IIT Bombay or IIT Hyderabad if she has cleared UGC NET.

But just clearing UGC NET is not enough for direct admission. Here's what is needed:

She must have a Master's degree in a relevant subject with good marks.

She will have to go through the interview process at the IIT.

Some departments may also ask for a written test, but NET may give exemption in some cases.

If she has UGC NET-JRF, it can help in getting a fellowship.

So yes, she is eligible to apply, but final admission depends on the interview and selection process at the IIT.

For B.A. (Hons.) in Arts from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) through CUET-UG 2025, General category candidates' cutoff usually ranges from 450–460 out of 750 marks. OBC and EWS candidates' cutoff is usually 420–430, and SC candidates require around 300–320 marks, and ST candidates around 220–240. These are approximate trends and category-wise relaxation cutoffs from previous years. To enhance opportunities to get a seat in the first merit lists, General students need to secure a CUET score over 455.
