Hi Sandra, If your College is not approved by ICAR then the only problem you face is getting jobs in Government Sector - where usually graduates from ICAR approved university are asked for. Otherwise getting job else where is not a problem. There are some state universities which are not accredited by ICAR, there is no need of ICAR if you study in a state agriculture University.

Hi,
Ideally one should study in an ICAR recognized college, if studying agriculture. ICAR & UGC are two different apex institutions. UGC has role in traditional education while ICAR has it in Agriculture Education. You cannot get government job if they mentioned ICAR affiliated universities only. But, you can get a job where they demand only graduate and with no special condition of ICAR recognition.

The ICAR admission cutoff is varying according to colleges and candidates categories. However, if you belongs to general category your ICAR score should be above 425 for admission, while for OBCs and SC/ST this should be above 400 and 300 respectively. Hence, your chances are very less.
