To apply for a BSc course at ISHM Kolkata, candidates have to qualify for the minimum eligibility criteria of the course. Those who passed Class 12 in any stream from a recognised board are eligible to apply for the course. Candidates must also appear in the institute's in-house entrance exam (ICAT) to be considered for admission. The selection process is completely based on applicants' achieved scores in the in-house entrance test.

Additionally, to get admitted, candidates are required to appear and secure a valid score on the ICAT- ISHM Common Aptitude Test. Moreover, the information regarding the direct admissions is not available on the official website of the institute.
