Due to accreditation requirements, all applicants seeking direct entry into the two-year M.Arch programme must have a pre-professional architecture degree (i.e. BAS, BES, BEDS, etc.).

Pre-professional Architecture programs are those whose curriculum is designed to meet accreditation requirements established and cyclically reviewed by the Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB) or foreign equivalent.

It is not necessary for all aspirants to take this test. Only candidates with a bachelor’s degree in an unrelated subject area other than the course-specific ones need to take the exam. This exam is conducted by ETS. GRE Test scores shall be available 10 to 15 days from the examination. Read more about the exam here.

No, GATE is not compulsory as a valid rank in CEED is also acceptable. GATE is just one of the criteria for selection. Hence, candidates without a GATE score can also apply. Apart from this, it is necessary for each aspirant to meet the eligibility requirements or else they shall not be able to pass the document verification round even if selected based on the entrance test score.

The school shortlist students for the M.Arch course based on a few parameters. Candidates' score in GATE/CEED, portfolio of work, personal interaction with faculty and/or written test, interest and motivation for the chosen study and work experience are the parameters for selection. At the time of admission, students have to submit the scorecard of the entrance test, pass certificates for academic records, etc. or the school holds the right to cancel the admission.
