Hi, your IELTS score is good. For MS in engineering, the cut offs are bit on the higher side. But, you should be able to get good options in Canada. Also, most universities will expect an explanation for the backlogs. So, be prepared for that. Are you planning to give your GRE?

What has your middle class stature got to do with your admission? Study hard and meet admission requirements, a strong allrounded profile is something you should be working on.

Hi, will depend on the nature of your gap, ideally you are fit for an MBA, for admission into MS you must have been highly academic and must have had research oriented work experience, publications etc.You are advised to email a couple of universities and get your profile screened beforehand.

I think you should go for ME, because with 53% marks, you won't get admission in Canada for MS. Or, you should do MS from New Zealand.

Hi, that's a good percentile, you can aim for top universities such as UBC, University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, University of Alberta, McGill University etc. Check admission requirements on the university websites and shortlist 5 to 7 of them. Apply on time.
