M.Tech Electrical Engineering

The M Tech in Electrical Engineering course is all about learning the advanced concepts of electricity, electromagnetic theory, and electronics. Students are given in-depth knowledge related to the designing, building, and upkeeping of electrical equipment and smart grids so that there is a smooth flow of electrical power, which is further needed for powering all the smart electronic devices and industrial machinery.
The course spans 2 years that is divided into four semesters, with the coursework including core and elective subjects along with practical lab training and research projects. You can also choose to specialize in particular areas like Power Systems and Electronics, Control Systems, Microelectronics and VLSI Design, etc.

In Telangana, a number of good colleges offer M.Tech courses in Electrical Engineering or Energy and Power Systems. Notable colleges are Osmania University in Hyderabad offering M.Tech in Electrical Engineering with specialisation in Power Systems, and the University College of Engineering, Osmania University that offers M.Tech in Power Systems and Energy. NIT Warangal offers M.Tech in Power Systems and Energy Engineering, and the same is on offer at JNTU Hyderabad with M.Tech in Electrical Power Systems. Kakatiya University at Warangal also offers M.Tech in Power and Energy Systems. Generally, the mode of admission for these programs is through GATE or entrance exams conducted by the respective universities.
