Candidates wanting to get admission to MVJ College of Engineering can follow the steps below:
- Pass and score well in the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET)
- Students who score well are called for counselling
- The minimum eligibility criteria include passing Class 12. The main subjects in Class 12 include English, Physics and Maths along with Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Electronics, or Computer Science.
- Students can also apply for the BTech Lateral entry if they hold a Diploma from a recognised institute/university.

MVJ College of Engineering do not accept the direct admission in any course offered by the intitute.
Candidates applying for the B.Tech programme are selected on the basis of performance in the following exams namely KCET/ COMEDK UGET/ AMPCK/ AIEEE.
For M.Tech criteria is to qualify GATE/ PG-CET.
For MBA criteria is to qualify Karnataka Postgraduate Common Entrance Test, Post Graduate Common Entrance Test/Karnataka Management Aptitude Test.

Admission to M.Tech and MBA is based on valid Karnataka Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) or CMAT scores. Along with a valid score in the qualifying exam, candidates must meet the minimum eligibility conditions for the respective PG course as well.
