No, not at all. For event management you don't need maths, neither do you need any management degree. You just need contacts and know a way of how to manage the whole event.

Very difficult to judge any institute or college on any basis because you haven't read from that particular place. Talking about the famous names, the list can be variable with the choice of your course. For Bachelor's you can find the names of Symbiosis, DCAC- Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, NIMC- National Institute of Mass Communication, Indraprastha University, Amity University, etc. And then there are few women orientated college such as Sophia Mumbai, Indraprastha college, Lady Shri Ram, etc. Those who are the pioneers in providing the best of practical training. The very first thing comes on mind after reading this question in, Is it possible? And the answer is, yes, it's possible to learn cinematography without attending film school. Learning Cinematography by own :
Figure out ways to get the shots you want, especially in a way that's better than hand-held. A mobile phone's video is a start, but you probably want to practice with a tripod at some point (can be very cheap), and then SEE what other tricks you can come up with such as wheeled chairs, swinging contraptions, in-vehicle shots.
