CAT is conducted by IIM and is a pathway to most of the top colleges of India while MAT is an exam for Tier 4 or Tier 5 colleges. MAT has GK section in exam while CAT does not have.

Dear Khushi,
All management entrance exams like CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT etc. more or less similar. Therefore, you can prepare English, general knowledge, etc. There are lot of books available in the market. For quantitative techniques, RS Agarwal is one of the best.
All the best.

XAT can help you to get into XLRI. It is one of the top management institutes in India. MAT and even if you can be in top 10 ranks in India, you can get into JBIMS – Mumbai. It is pretty easy to score in MAT, but difficult to be in top ranks. XAT with a 95% percentile and a good profile can get you a call from XLRI.

Yes. CAT or MAT score along with a consistent academic performance is considered by IIM's. It doesn't mean that you must score 80+%. Above average is preferable.

Hi,
If you are asking about IIMA, the answer is certainly not because the IIM's never consider MAT. MAT is widely accepted in non IIM's, but it is desirable to confirm with the specific institute.

It will be hard as to pursue PG course, you must get at least 60% in class 10th, 12th and graduation. Even, if you get selected in a college, you may face problems at the time of placement.
