MAT scaled score is between 200 to 800. It is arrived at using scores of all the five sections of the exam. Raw scores are coverted into scaled score by applying a standardised formula after with MAT percentile is calculated.

There is no passing marks in MAT. Anybody with above 0 score is eligible for admission. However, colleges select candidates on the basis of MAT cut offs. No MAT score accepting college has less than 60 percentile as cut off.

MAT cut off is the minimum score required for admission to any college. Every MAT accepting college has a minimum percentile basis which they select candidates for admission.

If you are targeting any of the top tier MBA colleges, then it is required to have a score of 600 score in MAT, which will convert into 90 percentile and above.

GIBS is pretty flexible when it comes to entrance exams. They accept almost all the common management tests — CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, State CET, and even GMAT. In my batch itself, we had students who came through different exams, not just CAT.

Honestly, that's one thing I liked about GIBS — they don't restrict the admission chances to only one or two exams. If you've taken any recognised management entrance, it counts. After that, they focus more on your overall profile, interview, and how serious you are about management studies, which makes the process feel fair rather than purely score-driven.

The admission processes for GIBS Business School in Bangalore have had an equal emphasis or priority for them: to create an environment that nurtures holistic development of all applicants through the evaluation and selection processes. More specifically, through their evaluation and selection process, they have established a historical trend for both CAT and MAT entrance exams; where successful applicants generally score above 60 percentile or higher on exams, with the exception of some years where the cut-off score for both the CAT and MAT were slightly lower or higher than indicated.

The typical MAT cut-off year-to-year is around 60-
